Winner in the PTSD UK art competition

I am a winner in the PTSD art competition with my poem, Zombie.

PTSD UK asked for art inspired by people’s experiences of PTSD. They will be publishing a book with the winners contributions. When they do I will add the link here.

My First Book ‘CREATURE’

I am very excited to tell you about my debut children’s book with Flying Eye Books and the amazing illustrator Grasya Oliyko. Together we have created a book called, ‘CREATURE’.

‘CREATURE’ is a playful, adventure-filled bedtime story. When you read it you may find yourself asking: Is this a story about a magical and elegant space creature as big as a galaxy or is it about a little playful cat with an imagination as big as the universe? It is a thrilling ride around space with a safe place to come home to rest in at the end. Who doesn’t want to sleep in the crescent of the moon?

Creature, is planned to be published in the spring of 2021.

Angels in the City

For Angels in the City, I wrote this poem called Brighton Divine.

Brighton Divine – dancing with joy in the rainbow lights.

Adorned in silverweed, daisy and red sorrel my green chalky cloak wraps around you.

Alive and full my sparkling ocean coloured gown washes and finds you refreshed and whole.

Alive and full my sparkling ocean coloured gown washes and finds you refreshed and whole.

My arms, made from shells and pebbles hold you while you breathe in deeply and breathe out slowly.

We dance with joy in the rainbow lights and move together to the sound of fast hazy summer beats.

The brave, adventurous and unique flock to my heart and I am proud and I am protection.

Let your tears, heartache and loneliness dissolve into the winds.

There will always be a breeze to blow away your pain.

I am strengthened by your truths, emboldened by your experience and inspired by the power of your love.

Throw your arms wide to the sky,

be aware,

I am here and I am made of love.

This place,  your home,  was made for healing and we will heal together.

We will heal while we dance with joy in the rainbow lights and move together to the sound of fast and happy summer beats.

We will rejuvenate as you breathe slowly and deeply in my shell and pebble arms.

We will heal as my sparkling ocean coloured gown washes you and finds you clean and whole again.

And as you sleep, I will wrap my green chalky cloak, decorated with silverweed, daisy and red sorrel around you.

I am here always, an angel for those who need to know they too are divine.

The Adur Sea of Lights Lantern Parade

I created a community-led lantern parade called the Sea of Lights. Our whole community came together with the help of a core group of amazing people, grants and council support, to bring the streets alive on one winter evening a year. The parade lasted for six years and was a huge success, It was one of the most humbling and inspiring projects that I have ever been lucky enough to be a part of.

A small selection of photos from the last parade – Space 2018
